As originally stated, I only have the one computer, so, whatever I want to use after a catastrophe, I have to have prepared ahead of time. So, this thread could be a good future reference for others. One issue I have at this time is a reference for the different terminology for different things that can be done after a catastrophe. I have decades of computer experience and have come to learn that my biggest hurdle to understanding something is simply learning the terminology. Most of the time I have the discipline to document as I learn so that I have a good reference in the future.
I have also come to learn that the way I want to document and have a reference is not necessarily the way everybody else wants to do it. Plus, there is too much old now useless info in my head that sometimes hinders learning new stuff i. I can tell you lotsa stuff about config. As I freely admit, I admit my brain does not work like everybody else's.
My problem with taking notes is finding the right ones when I need them.. A lot of times the "Notes" are on a machine that I don't have access to at the time they are needed, and the ones that have been printed are buried somewhere in other notes.. I could probably stand to be a bit more organized, but it is unlikely I will change my ways anytime soon..
